Product Description

The LC/PC-SC/PC Fiber Patch Cord Simplex OS2 G.657.A2 1.6mm 10m Black (Part number: 58450) from REGIONTEL is a Simplex patch cord with LC/PC connector at one side and a SC/PC connector at the other one. Fiber patch cords are a type of cables that have two connectors on both ends. Optic patch cords can come in simplex (1 fiber), duplex (2 fibers) or in MPO (12 fibers). The connectors on both sides of the patch cord, allow it to be quickly connected to another device such as an optical switch or other telecommunications/computer device.

Application

  • Considered to be the modern replacement of the SC connector. Also, a push-pull connector, the LC utilizes a latch as opposed to the SC locking tab and with a smaller 1,25mm ferrule it is known as a small form factor connector.

Characteristics

  • Mechanical requirements of optical cable (according to IEC60794-2-50)
  • 5.4.1 Tensile performance
  • Method: IEC 60794-1-2-E1A
  • Diameter of chuck drums and transfer devices: approximately 250mm
  • Rate of transfer device: 100 mm/min or 100N/min
  • Sample length: not less than 50m
  • Load:100N for 5 min
  • Requirements:
  • 1. Fiber attenuation at 1550nm wavelength ≤0.1dB /10m during the test.
  • 2. Maximum increase in attenuation at 1550nm wavelength ≤0.03dB after the test.

Fiber Type (ITU) - OS2 G.657.A2

Each type of single-mode fiber has its own area of application, and the evolution of these optical fiber specifications reflects the evolution of transmission system technology from the earliest installation of single-mode optical fiber to the present day. Choose the right fiber is very important for each project/installation. The OS2 G.657 standard single-mode fibers were developed to allow a better bending radius regarding the G.652 standard. For the OS2 G.657 fiber there are 4 subcategories: G.657.A1, G.657.A2, G.657.B2, G.657.B3.

The G.657.A2 fiber type is characterized by 7.5 mm minimum bending radius. These specifications of the G657 fibers allow to have a better cost-efficiency due to compact cable designs and reduced space requirements. Find some benefits when using the G.657.A2 fiber type:

  • Low attenuation;
  • Excellent macrobend performance (low bending radius);
  • Flexibility;
  • Cost-efficiency.

Configuration - Simplex

A Simplex configuration is a type of cabling arrangement commonly used in data centers and telecommunication networks. It consists of a single cable , terminated with a connector at each end. It is normally used in Half Duplex or Full Duplex data transmitions.

FO Connector Type 1 - LC

LC FO Connector is a small form factor fiber optic connector that uses a 1,25mm ceramic ferrule to align and connect optical fibers. Used in high-speed communication networks.Provides low insertion loss and high return loss. The connector is easy to install and provides a secure and reliable connection for both single-mode and multimode fiber optic cables. Its compact size makes it ideal for applications where space is limited, such as data centers, telecommunication rooms, and fiber-to-the-home installations.

FO Polish Connector 1 - PC

PC (Physical Contact), is a type of polishing procedure that makes flat surfacein the ferrule end face. The optical return loss of PC connectors is >-40dB. PC connectors may only be mated with other PC or UPC connectors. It can be identified by the blue boot and is used in single-mode and multi-mode fibers. This polishing procedure is outdated and is replaced by UPC.
