Product Description

The LC/PC-SC/PC Fiber Patch Cord Duplex MM 62.5/125µm 2m Orange (Part number: PC-DMMSCLC62/125-2-OG) from HellermannTyton is a Duplex patch cord with LC/PC connector at one side and a SC/PC connector at the other one. Fiber patch cords are a type of cables that have two connectors on both ends. Optic patch cords can come in simplex (1 fiber), duplex (2 fibers) or in MPO (12 fibers). The connectors on both sides of the patch cord, allow it to be quickly connected to another device such as an optical switch or other telecommunications/computer device.

Fiber Type (ITU) - OM1 G.651.1

OM1 (Optical Multimode 1) is a type of multimode fiber defined by the G.651.1 standard. It has a core diameter of 62.5 microns and is suitable for short-distance communication, up to 300 meters at 1 Gbps. OM1 is commonly used for LAN applications and has been largely replaced by OM2 and higher-grade fibers in modern networks.

Configuration - Duplex

A Duplex configuration is a type of cabling arrangement commonly used in data centers and telecommunication networks. It consists of a two fibers cable , terminated with two connector at each end. It is normaly used in Simplex data transmition.

FO Connector Type 1 - LC

LC FO Connector is a small form factor fiber optic connector that uses a 1,25mm ceramic ferrule to align and connect optical fibers. Used in high-speed communication networks.Provides low insertion loss and high return loss. The connector is easy to install and provides a secure and reliable connection for both single-mode and multimode fiber optic cables. Its compact size makes it ideal for applications where space is limited, such as data centers, telecommunication rooms, and fiber-to-the-home installations.

FO Polish Connector 1 - PC

PC (Physical Contact), is a type of polishing procedure that makes flat surfacein the ferrule end face. The optical return loss of PC connectors is >-40dB. PC connectors may only be mated with other PC or UPC connectors. It can be identified by the blue boot and is used in single-mode and multi-mode fibers. This polishing procedure is outdated and is replaced by UPC.

Fiber Mode - Single Mode (SM)

Single mode fiber uses a LASER light source, is a type of optical fiber with a small core diameter that allows only one mode of light to propagate. It is used in telecommunications and data transmission systems to transmit signals over long distances with low attenuation and high bandwidth. Single mode fiber is ideal for high-speed and long-distance applications, such as internet backbone networks, cable television networks, and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services. Its narrow core reduces the dispersion of light, allowing signals to travel further and faster than with multimode fiber.
