Product Description

The 48FO (4x12) Riser Loose Tube Fiber Optic Cable OM4 (Part number: 19602600BZ) from Dätwyler with 48FO and Anti Rodent construction . Riser fiber optic cable is used in indoor and outdoor optical networks, more specifically in LAN backbone, access and riser zone. Riser cables are being used more and more in big projects outdoor that's why this type of cable benefits from a special jacket for different necessities.

The 48FO (4x12) Riser Fiber Optic Cable OM4 from Datwyler is a Riser cable with 48 fibers within 4 loose tubes. This distribution cable for optical networks has a loose tube structure and a flame retardant halogen-free FR/LS0H sheath with incorporated non-metallic reinforcements and a reinforcing helix, allowing high crush resistance for high transmission reliability with easy implementation and installation due to cable construction with dry interstices and gel free loose tubes. The two coloured ripcords are easy to identify and enable the safe opening of the cable sheath. The optical fibers comply with TIA recomendations OM4.

Applications

For indoor use: Installations in LAN backbone, access and riser zone; Data centre backbone and horizontal cabling; Connection cable between the building distributors and/or floor distributors; Suitable for laying in dry cable trays, ducts and vertical shafts, also when accessible to rodents; Can also be installed on very complex cable trays.

Fiber Type (ITU) - OM4 G.651.1

OM4 (Optical Multimode 4) is a type of multimode fiber defined by the G.651.1 standard. It has a core diameter of 50 microns and is designed for high-bandwidth applications over longer distances than OM3, supporting up to 10 Gbps over distances of up to 550 meters and 40 Gbps over distances of up to 150 meters. OM4 is commonly used for data center and enterprise networks and is optimized for use with VCSEL sources, offering lower attenuation and higher bandwidth than OM3.

FOC Construction - Loose tube

While using a loose tube construction in cables, you can:

  • Pull and stretch without causing fractures from bending or tension;
  • Have full resistant protection of the fiber core, cladding and coating (mechanical protection and UV protection);
  • Reach optimized performances at extreme temperatures;
  • Avoid the risk of environmental damage (including water damage).

The loose tube construction solution can be chosen for the following applications:

  • Direct buried;
  • Aerial;
  • Duct;
  • Rodent resistant;
  • Indoor and outdoor;
  • Water-blocking;
  • Temperature endurance.

FOC Protection - Anti Rodent

Anti-Rodent is a type of fiber optic cable protection designed to prevent damage from rodents such as rats, mice, and squirrels. This protection is achieved by applying a special coating or tape to the cable, making it difficult for rodents to chew through the cable and cause damage. Anti-rodent protection is particularly important in outdoor and underground installations where rodents are common, and can help to prevent costly and time-consuming repairs.

Jacket Material - LSZH

LSZH (low smoke, zero halogen) is a jacket material that is designed to limit the release of smoke and toxic fumes in the event of a fire. It is made without halogens, which makes it environmentally friendly and safe for human health. LSZH is highly resistant to moisture and chemicals, making it suitable for harsh environments. It is commonly used in public buildings, transportation systems, and other areas where safety is a primary concern. However, LSZH may be more expensive than other materials, and it may have a lower temperature rating, which may limit its use in certain applications.
