Aerial self support figure 8 fiber optical cable configuration is the one in which the conductors and the steel strand which supports the cable are integrally jacketed. The cable portion is attached integrally with stranded steel messenger wires. Suitable for Aerial installation except on power lines. The cable design provides easy and economical one step installation and stable performance over a wide temperature range and is compatible with any telecommunication grade optical fibre. The strength member is designed to withstand the tensile forces of the installation and may be metallic or non-metallic. The design configurations of this cable consist of central tube or stranded loose tube.

The 12FO (1x12) Duct + ADSS Central Tube Fiber Optic Cable SM G.652.D Rodent Protection from Cablescom is a ADSS-Aerial cable with 12 fibers within 1 central tube. This totally dielectric distribution cable for optical networks has a central loose tube structure with PBT loose tubes filled with a thixotropic filling compound, in order to avoid water penetratio. A polyethylene sheath and water-blocking fiberglass yarns for mechanical protection and rodent retardant.The optical fibers comply with ITU-T recommendations G.652.D.

For outdoor use; These cables are designed for aerial installations, in facades or in underground ducts, by pulling or blowing. For medium and/or long distance telecommunications networks.

The OS2 G.652.D fiber type provides a zero dispersion at 1310nm wavelength therefor it is optimized for operation in the 1310nm Wavelength. The regular performance remains on the 1550nm wavelength.
