Product Description

The 24FO (2X12) Outdoor Loose tube Fiber Optic Cable OM4 G.651.1 PE (Part number: 19444400FZ) from Dätwyler with 24FO and Dielectric Armoured construction . Indoor/Outdoor fiber optic cable is prepared for both environmental requirements, indoor and outdoor optical networks, which can be run in duct, direct buried or aerial in the outside plant. By installing this cable, there's no need of costly splice junctions when entering into buildings because of the adaptability of the cable.

The 24FO (2X12) Outdoor Loose tube Fiber Optic Cable OM4 G.651.1 PE from Datwyler has Euroclass Fca , is a Outdoor cable with 12 fibers within 2 loose tubes. Robust, metal-free fibre optic outdoor cable with stranded loose tubes in one layer. High crush resistance for high transmission reliability. Easy handling due to the use of dry strand interstices. Non-metallic rodent protection. The two coloured ripcords are easy to identify and enable the safe opening of the cable sheath. HDPE cable sheath, easy to lay

Fiber Type (ITU) - OM4 G.651.1

OM4 (Optical Multimode 4) is a type of multimode fiber defined by the G.651.1 standard. It has a core diameter of 50 microns and is designed for high-bandwidth applications over longer distances than OM3, supporting up to 10 Gbps over distances of up to 550 meters and 40 Gbps over distances of up to 150 meters. OM4 is commonly used for data center and enterprise networks and is optimized for use with VCSEL sources, offering lower attenuation and higher bandwidth than OM3.

FOC Construction - Loose tube

While using a loose tube construction in cables, you can:

  • Pull and stretch without causing fractures from bending or tension;
  • Have full resistant protection of the fiber core, cladding and coating (mechanical protection and UV protection);
  • Reach optimized performances at extreme temperatures;
  • Avoid the risk of environmental damage (including water damage).

The loose tube construction solution can be chosen for the following applications:

  • Direct buried;
  • Aerial;
  • Duct;
  • Rodent resistant;
  • Indoor and outdoor;
  • Water-blocking;
  • Temperature endurance.

FOC Protection - Dielectric Armoured

Dielectric Armoured is a type of fiber optic cable protection designed to provide a high degree of mechanical protection while maintaining electrical isolation. This protection is achieved by using an armor layer made of dielectric materials such as Kevlar, which is non-conductive and non-magnetic. This armor layer protects the cable from damage caused by crushing, impacts, and bending, while also providing protection from environmental factors such as moisture and temperature changes. Dielectric armored FOC is commonly used in indoor and outdoor installations where the cable may be exposed to harsh conditions.

Jacket Material - PE

PE (polyethylene) is a versatile jacket material that offers good protection against moisture, abrasion, and chemicals. It is highly flexible and has a low coefficient of friction, which makes it easy to install and handle. PE is also resistant to UV radiation and can withstand a wide range of temperatures, making it a popular choice for outdoor and industrial applications. However, it is less flame-resistant than other materials, which may limit its use in certain environments.
