Fiber Type (ITU) - OM5 G.651.1

OM5 (Optical Multimode 5) is a type of multimode fiber defined by the G.651.1 standard. It has a core diameter of 50 microns and is designed for high-bandwidth applications over extended distances, supporting up to 40 Gbps over distances of up to 440 meters and 100 Gbps over distances of up to 150 meters. OM5 is commonly used for data center and enterprise networks and is optimized for use with Shortwave Wavelength Division Multiplexing (SWDM) technology, allowing for multiple wavelengths to be transmitted over a single fiber.
