The 2FO (2x1) Drop Flex Tube Fiber Optic Cable OM1 62.5/125μm Black (Part number: K1FZ288002BT0D) from KDP with 2FO. Drop cable is a light weight, robust cable, used in optical networks, where the installation is up to the customer premises.
The 2FO (2x1) Drop Fiber Optic Cable OM1 62.5/125μm Black from KDP is a Drop cable with 2 gel filled PBT tubes with one optical fibre, each PBT tube is within one black PUR (HFFR) inner jacket. This special breakout distribution cable as a PUR (HFFR) outer sheath and a 1,8 mm FRP dielectric central strenght member. Waterproofing is achived by a waterblocking aramid yarn, a water-swellable tape and aramid yarn inside each inner jacket. There is also two PUR (HFFR) filler. The optical fibers comply with TIA recomendations OM1.

OM1 (Optical Multimode 1) is a type of multimode fiber defined by the G.651.1 standard. It has a core diameter of 62.5 microns and is suitable for short-distance communication, up to 300 meters at 1 Gbps. OM1 is commonly used for LAN applications and has been largely replaced by OM2 and higher-grade fibers in modern networks.
While using a flex tube construction in cables, you can:
The cable flex tube construction solution can be chosen for the following applications:
Multi mode fiber uses a LED or a VCSEL light source, is a type of optical fiber with a big core diameter that allows several rays of light to propagate. It is used in telecommunications and data transmission systems to transmit signals over small distances with high or medium attenuation and bandwidth to 10Gb/s. Multi mode fiber is ideal for medium-speed and small-distance applications, such as networks backbone and fiber to the desk in an enterprise network. Its large core provoques the dispersion of light, preventing signals to travel further and faster than with singlemode fiber.
