Extralink Chiron is a 24-port next-generation Layer 3 switch. It targets IP MAN (metropolitan area network), government and corporate networks, Internet cafes. It is developed on the basis of high-performance hardware and supports features such as efficient ACLs, flexible QinQ, 1:1 or N:1 VLAN switching, Ethernet OAM, carrier-level QoS and industry-level 10GE Ether-ring. It also supports Layer 3 routing protocol.

High reliability

Based on an advanced distribution mechanism and an efficient cross-physical link aggregation function, the logic control plane, service control plane and service data plane are separated. This allows Extralink Chiron to support continuous routing redirection at Layer 3, avoiding service interruption due to a single failure.

Chiron supports telecom-level Ethernet protection protocol with less than 50 ms protection offset time, STP/RSTP/MSTP, active and backup uplinks, and LACP link aggregation to ensure high service reliability.
